https://ca.yahoo.com/news/canada-fa...even-though-summer-stayed-late-190037127.html Looks like my area is looking forward to a mix of heavy snow mixed up by some arctic air! You know the weather man is always right!
Just traded my tractor for a new one with a commercial grade front-mounted snow blower. Sounds like that was a smart decision.
With the snowblower vs, the plow, you don't have to worry about the banks closing in throughout the winter months. Unless you have lots of room anyway?
Had a plow on a truck last winter. By the end of winter I was having to drive up the snow banks with the tractor loader pushing snow into 12' high banks. Then came the wet, cold spring and I got to enjoy looking at dirty snow piles until the beginning of June. This year I have avowed "no more snow banks".............. We are about to find out how good Kubota tractors really are.................
my avatar with 72 meteor blower 38 inches of fluff in April a yawner foot of wet heavy no problem... even when road town plow.. I blow banks back to tree line as keep end of drive open ... so 3 feet of wet sanded slop... just clutch it every 10 feet to let blower catch up.. ..
only had 1 so far this year, the leaves are still falling off the trees and we have robins strutting around the yard. Easy on the hoard so far.
This out from NOAA: Snow lovers rejoice and the rest of us get ready! A snowier than average winter looks to be on the way for Michigan. During a La Nina pattern, wetter-than-average conditions are favored across most of the northern United States. Everywhere from the northern Rockies to the eastern Great Lakes and Ohio Valley are included. Michigan is prediction to have a 40 percent chance at a wetter-then-average winter. Drier-than-normal conditions are expected across the entire southern U.S.
They are pretty much out except for the white river fire. I havent heard about the ones started by the wind event the other day on the Alberta side of the mountains yet. Im in Ainsworth Hot springs right now. Its pouring rain here and about 10c! The caves are fun.... hot springs are nice and warm and therapeutic. I dont know how any forest fires could handle the rain were getting in BC
Its neat how lots of our fall colours are done where I live but Nelson/Ainsworth area is warmer so its like going back in time a few weeks. There are also more non coniferous trees in the Nelson area. The colours are popping like you wouldnt believe. Very pretty!
You probably aren't there anymore but it just so happens that my brother and his wife are there for the weekend. He says it is a bit crowded.
Yeah we left two days ago. It was nice and not so busy but then again we left Friday morning. I wished I had taken more pictures of the fall colours. Even the slope above the hot springs were alive with different colours even though it was pouring rain. We found the cave to be fun! Edit. I guess it was two days ago but we were there yesterday!
We stayed for a night in Nelson as well. My family hadnt been there before so that was nice. I have a few pics of the courthouse and the bright red virginia creeper I should post.
