The furnace just got cleaned so the next and last big project is getting the septic pumped. I will be clearing another area to drop the backhoe for the winter, last year it was in a area that wasn't great when I went to plow the lower part of the driveway.
LinkedXJ you've got people here who want good things for you. Depression is an ugly thing and asking for help is certainly not a sign of weakness. Not sure if it will help you, but something that helped me to refocus was to take time out to be thankful for the little things...even small silly stuff that usually I wouldn't usually think twice about. I would say it out loud that i was thankful for the smallest of things. Stuff like "thank you that my car started" or "thank you I've got a roof over my head". It helped me start thinking positive and not about dark thoughts.
Yup, and write it down...oh, and you have to write down something different everyday...its not as easy as you would think after a week or two...it does change your focus though...
Great idea! I journal everyday. It is even more powerful to write it down. I start everyday in my journal and list what I am grateful for. I end the day w/what I am grateful for. I write down what was great about the day, what the challenges were, how I handled them....how I could have done better.
Finally installed a sliding gate on the double horse stall today. Didn't have the right hardware to finish it up but I'll pick that up tomorrow. This will make things easier for the wife and kids. I enclosed the tack room over a few days last week. That room now has ceiling joist over it with 1x12 Amish lumber for a floored storage area above it. You can not have too much storage. Now the kids want it for an indoor club house.
I have all ways looked at my current job as I was looking for a job when I found this one. I try not to get wrapped up in the philosophy of things. Having said that I have worked for my employer for 23-24 years. I am more of a....you pay me to work 40 hours and I give/sell 40 hours of work....2 way street---they give me nothing...I give them nothing! We barter time-vs-$$$$...we all get what's paid for...WIN- WIN.
Good morning. Mid to upper 40's today and continued chance of rain. Installed the damper plate on the OWB last nite after work. D-O-N-E burning Profane to heat this old shack. Gotta' hub bearing assembly to install on Ol' Black and Crusty and maybe s/s about 1/2 truckload of Ash into the woodshed. Have a good day, be safe. Peace.
Lit a few lumber scraps off in the stove to warm up the flue. I still haven't cleaned my chimney yet, and as windy as it is today, I didn't want to take any chances on a reverse draft with a stone cold flue. Going to clean it here in a couple hours after things cool back down a little. I was tempted to run the AC last week...now I'm going to have to light a fire at some point in the week.
