Is that an Ash in the first pic? Sorry dont know about the wires. But often see them as cable or telephone around here. One being seen right in my backyard. I have to think those boxes are like the relay. Keeps the signal clear.
Thats a telcom cable. What are you wanting them to do? If that telcom company is anything like the one I work for they will probably tell you to go pound sand. If they do anything with it. It will take forever for anything to get done. And they will bill the hell out of you for it. You will probably be further ahead having that tree blocked down.
I was hoping they could drop that down out of the way long enough to take down that Sycamore in the first picture. The left tree in the last pic Might have to go with a bucket truck
I'm with Redfin on this one. If there's any electric near it you may be able to call them and they may put it on the ground for you. I know our tree department will depending on the situation.
Agree with Redfin .. prob too expensive to move that line. Can you cut the branches below the line and then use a rope to drop the tree away from the line? Make absolutely sure there are no electrical lines going through that tree. Looks clear from the pics but one can never be sure. Looks like a challenging one!!!
I can almost guarentee you would have more invested having your telco come out, if they would even do it. To get that line on the ground would include several pole attachments on both sides of the tree, any srvc drops to houses and all bonding.
No power by that Sycamore. Power company just went down that street last fall taking out trees, they didn't touch either one of these two trees. The only thing I will be doing is, helping out then, limbing and bucking. amateur cutter and Pallet Pete will be getting it on the ground
That was one of the trees the power company took out, last fall. My daughter asked about the wood, they said they wanted it for a friend or something, they drug the rest of the pieces of the tree beside their house, it's still sitting there along with the big log out front. I couldn't tell you if those people even own a chainsaw
First hand experience - The utility companies would prefer to be proactive with a tree like that. I had a large maple with two trunks. Over the years, the trunks twisted a split down into the main trunk, which was about 3ft DBH. The trunk split about 15ft up from the ground. I had a knock at the door and it was from the utility. We walked out to the tree and they showed me what they were concerned about. If the split were to continue, power lines would be in jeopardy. Mind you, the power lines were on the opposite side of the street. Long story short - they showed up a few weeks alter and took it down. All the wood was left for me. No cost to me. They even dropped the main trunk, into my yard. If you can't identify which utility to call, notify your local DPW. Tell them about the trunk rot. They'll move on it, if they are earning their taxpayer-funded salary.
