It all depends. Not everyone dislikes it.

Pin oak has a bit stronger smell than red. Sometimes a bit harder to split too but that is because of so many limbs.

Don't worry, I already have plans to head back there after work this week...I'm sure it'll take me a solid 6 more trips to clear out that stash, and I can pull out well over a cord with my truck bed stacked to capacity.

My Dad has a piece of property just down the road from me that he lets me use for "overflow", so that's where I'll be staging everything. He also had a backhoe over there, and I'm planning to buy a splitter here in the near future, so I'll do all of my processing there, and then bring it back to my place to be Holz Hausen'd along my fence line where I get a ton of sun and wind (I stacked green Shagbark Hickory out there in February that was 40+% MC, and it's sub-20 now).

My plan is to build a wood shed sometime this spring where I can store 6+ cords, move all of the stuff that's out there in HHs currently into the shed, and then get another 10 cords of this fall's harvest stacked out there.

Now I just need this damm high pressure to release its unholy grip on the jet stream so we can finally get some cold weather :-D
