That's how my pictures came out also. I was East of Grand Island in Aurora. Seeing it first hand was much better than the pictures would lead you to believe. Plus the experience, it got dark so quick when the totality occurred, no mistaking it. Really cool stuff today.
Yikes. I am glad I was not in that mess. That is a lot of lights on the south bound side of I-25 and yes they do not look to be moving very fast.
After the eclipse we stopped in Grand Island to eat lunch. After that the trip back to Omaha, normaly a 2.5 hour trip, was 4 hours. Should have drove back to parents in Greeley (north of Grand Island) for the night.
Yeah, it was pretty much like it was slightly overcast, but still plenty bright and the temp stayed steady in the high 70's. Everyone at work thought it would be at least a bit darker. Could only really tell using glasses (which one guy had).
You know, there were lota of "eclipse parties". I feel like just following this thread was like having our own party! And I sure enjoyed your company! I need to "like" all of your replies. Great picks, anddgood company!
Awesome pics men, we had about a 90% here, It was a bright sunny day and it never got dark. you would have never known it was going on if you didn't have the glasses and look at it. just glancing at it with the eyes you couldn't tell
I missed the whole thing. I had to take my wife in for a pre-op physical to have a cataract removed next month. Glad to see all of the pics and descriptions.
Coming home, it took 17HOURS! We got stuck in a traffic snarl on I 81 that went on FOREVER. Finally wound up on 220 through pitch black, heavy rain, and windey back roads. Got home to Tyrone at 2:3'0am
"Firebroad, post: 691043, member: 1271"]Okay, better late than never...sorry they are out of order.
Nice pictures. I am glad you went and had the experience of seeing it.
Yeah, my pictures were lousy. Ryley had the foresight to put his camera on a tripod, with a lens of the cardboard glasses over it. I am sure he cleaned them up, as well...
