I'm not really into this sort of thing, but it sounds cool to see it. My folks are about 30 miles East of Grand Island, Neb., so right in the middle of the "Totality".
I could pop out there on Sat. and spend some time with them, then come back Monday after it's over. 13 hr. drive, roundtrip. So, worth it?

Its a cool factor I think... I'm right at the edge of total, I believe.

Looks like here in Pa. we'll be 80-85% total.

The visit alone would be worth the trip, no?

    Do it!

It will be my first day back at work and it looks like we will be in the 80% range. I would make the trip. How often would you see a 100% eclipse?

Here I think we're at 96% totality. About an hour or two south it gets better. Will be neat to see....

Once in a lifetime event, we are not driving but will have our special glasses etc. and see it from the house.

We won't see anything but a partial. But in 2024, we'll be able to see it!

Just not in my backyard, please. My motion sensor goes off @ 1 am and I find a loon walking around with a welding hood on, things will get interesting.

Supposedly there is to be a large meteor shower Aug 12th as a precursor to the eclipse. It is time to repent for the heavens warn of the times to come!
