Grizz wants to get more hits for the FHC from online searches & articles . Think how the bots work .............. The bots are "search engine" tools that are searching out matches for things people searching online Want to find :How to season wood Do an internet search "How to season wood" "Seasoning wood" "Seasoning firewood" Now how many of them returned a thread in the FHC ? Type in a search for "Wood Chute pictures" Yahoo links & shows a pic of my wood chute thread on the FHW Want more hits from those searching for our type of forum subjects ? Every now & then someone will click & be sent here. Make thread titles Like "Seasoning wood" "How to season firewood" "Seasoning Firewood" The bots, first search titles, if hits have been found, the bots are told to stand down. But if no hits for a few seconds they keep searching for those word inside an individual post. So, to get more hits: think of ways you'd search online for something, make the thread title just that. "drying firewood" "Drying wood" "How dry should firewood be" "Tips for drying firewood" Now some things are gonna out rank the FHC because; venders pay goog & Yahoo to put their link up ahead of others. Don't forget there's BIG & BIGGER bots for the "Big Data Search" for anything working all the time, (Searching for words, terms, names patterns ... anything "THEY" want to trigger a data querry about, by who or whom, to or about who or whom) "THEY" log it, save it search it , find the source & can knock on anyones door in a short period of time.
Great post and great advice!! I see a lot of posts like "just hauled this in"! When it should have read "Large haul of white oak"! Wording it as someone would search it. Will help tremendously! Thanks Dave!!
Well They know & log that you tagged it , probably log he subject a file with your name on it LOL kinda but , yea. The bots are searching & watching & logging & storing data.
Using the tag function should help, it's like adding keywords or meta search terms. I highly endorse descriptive titles and using tags!
