Here is a little pile of logs ready to be cut up. May save a peace or two for saw testing.

Well, I'm new here. This year I've only got about 3 and a half cord of Alligator Juniper mixed with some Shaggy and a little Cedar. The hard wood pile is a mix of Maple, Black Walnut, Honey and Black Locust, Apple, Plum, Apricot, Pear, Arizona White Oak, Emory Oak, Ash, Choke Cherry and probably a few types I've failed to mention. The hard wood pile isn't over 3 cord but for some reason the people in this area continue to give away very good wood. They also want their fruit trees cut down because they don't want to deal with the mess of the fruit. That's why I have so much fruit wood. I know it sounds crazy, but I'll post the pics tomorrow.

Welcome to the forum JP! You have some very good smoking wood in your pile! Might want to save some of that fruitwood for this purpose if you like smoked BBQ!

Don't you love child labor? My 8yo has a blast stacking and I'd rather let him earn the money than try and hire a teenager.

On a side note, I'm done splitting all my wood for now, time to go cut and haul home more rounds. I've been waiting to pick up a new saw and then its back to cutting! Hoping the stihl ms271 will fit the bill nicely and get along with my old homelites nicely. :saw:

My son has a blast with it as well. I just finished splitting and stacking most of about 4 cords. I asked him last night if he wanted to help finishing it this coming weekend, and the answer I got was a very excited YES! Lol
He’s got his own tools and wheel barrow, and not afraid to use them. The time we spend together doing things like this is priceless. He loves to help and hang out with me.

Good luck with the new saw! I’m sure the 271 will be a great firewood saw for you.
