sorry had to. i honestly dont run enough fuel through my saws see buildup like shawns, but i generally run amsoil 45:1, lately its been mobil 2xt 45:1 and all seems well. Im a big fan of running a sensible ratio for your application. for a couple years ive run the same 45:1 mix in my backpack blower (ebz 8500), for the first time a couple months ago i had trouble starting it, it would start but barely run, as though the choke was on. pulled air filter/carb elbow off and about half a cup of oil poured out. ran fine after that.....So a ported worksaw? yeah run some extra oil. for most people and most applications 50:1 and good fuel will do just fine.
I run 32:1 in all my outdoor power equiptment. I have like 6 NON ported saws from china junk saws I use in The yard and throw on the trailer to take to the farm to 80cc pro saws. No oil pours out of any of them if I remove any parts? I think your tune may not be right???
this backpack blower has a non-adjustable carb. ran perfectly right up until it did not run anymore haha. have run enough fuel from the same can to know that its not a problem in my saws, but for some reason this particular blower does not like the rich mixture. Air filter is brand new and not restricted.
gunner jokes, but after break-in i ran this blower on amsoil 80:1 for at least 250 hours total over the last three years, only last fall switching to roughly 45:1 mix, about 20 hours later i had the no run condition.
There's your problem fixed carb. It don't like the mix. You have to richen the H with 32 to 1 to get more fuel to engine
What kind of blower was that? maybe I should make sure I run 50:1 in my Husqvarna 150bt, no carb adjustment on it
OMC use to recommend 100:1 ...then they realized powerheads were burning up at WOT and went back down to 50:1 Random knowledge from my boating side
