I have no experience with these bars, curious if anyone does, and if they are worth the $$.

    I'd love a lighter 25" on the 460...

I have no experience with the Sugi or Tsumura bars but I have had a couple of the Stihl 28" ES Light bars. Much lighter than anything I have seen from Sugi or Tsumura. It weighs the same as a 20" ES, just longer. And when I had my 460s, it balanced PERFECTLY.

The Sugi Light is a nice bar. The Tsumara is a lighter bar because of the double row of lightweight inserts.

The Stihl ES Light (28") is probably lighter than a 25" Sugi and may be lighter than the Tsumara. But the hardness of the Sugi/Tsumara, and the non painted surface (you see the quality of steel you are getting) are what makes them a very sought after bar.

If you don't mind a little longer (it's really only an actual 26.5" cutting inches) bar, the 28" ES Light is very light. It's actually a little lighter than a 20" ES. Good balance and good reach. :D.

I have both. I like the tsumura a little better. The oil hole doesn't stop up as bad (it's angled) Both have very hard rails and wear well. Both are noticeably lighter than standard bars. Sugi hara is a bit easier to get here. I had to get my tsumura from a guy in Canada.

Tsumura is the best light weight bars I've used. The stihl is nice also. I know a good source for the sugihara if any one wants it.

They do hold up extremely well to use. Unless you scratch the clear coat it will stay shiny.

That was taken on my bench.

I paid no where near what the tags say. Seems like it was $42 for the 20" x .050 x 3/8ths. Is that a good deal?

    Not bad pricing on the 20". I paid $55 for a 20" and $60 for a 28".

Well that is why I bought several spares. These were about the same price as discount bars such as Forester. The ones pictures are large mount. I have a few Tsumura ordered in small mount .325.

So i see this is an old thread, but I am looking for a Tsumi bar for my 576XPG, I am based in norway and the only seller I have found so far is on ebay. Does anyone know where I could aquire a 20" light bar, 3/8" 0.063 gauge.

The guy in BC on ebay is probably your best bet. I don't know any of the husky mount made in .063". Have to get a stihl mount with an adapter

I have some Sugi and some Tsumura lite and regular bars. They are extremely nice. 20+" I really like the lightweight bars.I have no experience with comparing wear with standard Stihl or Oregon bars, since I just don't put enough mileage on them to notice.

Thanks for the replies guys, I contacted thechainsawguy to see if he could help me out :)

The bar that came with the saw doesn't even have a nose bearing (not sure if that's the correct terminology) so I suspect it creates a lot of no-good friction.

I'll try and follow up with the experience here, am also planning to show you guys my place in Norway, just have to build some stacks first!
