You know, I've never quite understood why someone would purposely do that to themselves.

Those labels are so true, they might be a bit tough on language for the lil ones but they speak the truth.

Yes, that's one of my "go to" sauces. I use it my jerky recipes, my bloody Mary recipe, its great mixed with Mayo as a dipping sauce for onion rings, sweet tater fries and many other things.

is a paste-like meat product produced by forcing pureed or ground beef, pork, turkey or chicken, under high pressure through a sieve or similar device to separate the bone from the edible meat tissue. In 2001 the UK[nb 1] and in 2004 the US prohibited the sale of MSM beef for human consumption to prevent the spread of bovine spongiform encephalopathy.[1] It is sometimes called "white slime" as an analog to pink slime and to meat extracted by advanced meat recovery systems, both of which are different processes. The process entails pureeing or grinding the carcass left after the manual removal of meat from the bones and then forcing the slurry through a sieve under pressure. This puree includes bone, bone marrow, skin, nerves, blood vessels, and the scraps of meat remaining on the bones. The resulting product is a blend of muscle (meat) and other tissues not generally considered meat.[2] The process is controversial; Forbes, for example, called it a "not-so-appetizing meat production process".[3]

Savemoney, I don't know why I gave you a "like" for that. That sounds disgusting, it is no wonder I don't eat so much processed meat anymore. Except for bacon.

I don't see anything wrong with those ingredients, except for maybe nitrite, but then nitrite doesn't keep me from eating bacon.

We have folks on here who make their own Bacon. Seems that is better than processed. Generally speaking, there isn't much in the way of processed food that is actually good for us. I try for fresh or frozen whenever I can.
Anybody can easily make beef or turkey jerky. No need for slim Jim made with toxic waste. [IMG]
