I think Hittinsteel has me beat.....he's got some great variety and color there....
This is the second time we've had these type of kabobs in the past month. Wifey loves this meal. Last time I cooked them over some applewood, this time we used chestnut oak and black cherry slivers, DEFINATELY a lot tarter and smokier tasting.....which we both liked.

We did three filets for the kids, they LOVE steak done over the firepit.....

Wow, that all looks fantastic! All of a sudden I have a craving for 'kabobs. I think I know what I'm cooking next.

I want a keyhole firepit! I think I could put the brinkmann barrel smoker in the keyhole, rake in coals from the fire pit and get a long smoke going

I shouldn't look at food post this late at night. I think I will go look in the fridge and see if there is any pumpkin pie left over. Add some whipping cream, too? :D

How small of limbs can you use for smoking outdoors on the key hole pit. I have pear, peach, and cherry trees that need trimmed up. Should it be more thicker pieces or can you use small limbs?

Mitch, those limbs and branches would be fine! Maybe soak them in a bucket of water and put them on the hot coals right before smoking/cooking......they'll smolder long enough to give you some flavor...

FWIW, even clean bark off of living trees (shagbark hickory for example) can be great for smoking. We have a guy here at work who makes some of the best deer jerky I've ever eaten and his recipe consists of uniodized salt and hickory bark.....nothing more......

You DON'T want to use bark or wood that had fungus or mold all over it......stick with the clean stuff.

Campinspecter rescued me from the pumpkin pie and whipping cream. He brought me a sliced up pear to eat. It was good.
