You will now notice the bar of social media links across the bottom of each public thread. It looks like this: From left to right: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, TUMBLR, Pintrest, and Email. Clicking one of these buttons shared the thread you are currently reading via the site you choose (or by email, if you clicked the email button). Little is actually shared-- typically just a picture, a few words from the beginning of the fist posts, and a clickable link to come join us here at FHC. Facebook is a social networking website that makes it easy for you to connect and share with your family and friends online. Twitter is an online social networking service that enables users to send and read short 140-character messages called "tweets". Registered users can read and post tweets, but unregistered users can only read them. LinkedIn, a professional networking site, allows its members to create business connections, search for jobs, and find potential clients. Google+ (Google Plus) is Google's attempt at social networking. The Google+ service that delivers functionality and many features similar to those of Facebook. Tumblr is a cross between a social networking site and a blog and is often described as a 'microblog'. Reddit is an entertainment, social networking service and news website where registered community members can submit content, such as text posts or direct links. Pinterest is a web and mobile application company that offers a visual discovery, collection, sharing, and storage tool. Users create and share the collections of visual bookmarks (boards). Boards are created through a user selecting an item, page, website, etc. and pinning it to an existing or newly created board. Email, short for electronic mail, is the transmission of messages over communications networks. The messages can be notes entered from the keyboard or electronic files stored on disk. Most mainframes, minicomputers, and computer networks have an e-mail system.
That is the plan. If people only knew how many of our newer member are here due to Scotty's recruiting on facebook...
Kudos to Scotty, glad he is putting us out there. Word of mouth and social media may eventually take over and it will run itself. Does anyone know what the other top wood forums memberships are?
What does scotty do on facebook? Is he going to peoples page or whatever and telling them to go to the forum?
Wow I didnt realize AS had that many folks. A smaller more obscure one that has all the stuff but on a smaller scale and a forum I have been on for 10+ years is the forestry forum
I remember back when my brother and I were in college and you had to be in an ivy league school to be on FB. Then you had to just have an .edu email to get on. Thought it was stupid then. Dont think its as stupid now but kind of boarder line. I may get one one day. But everyone is on it now. And the cool kids dont use it as much, so do I want to be on it now? Haha!
I used it to keep in touch with friends and family, but I don't really do much with it that isn't FHC related.
I am talking back like first year or so it was around. Zuckerburg was still in school then. My brother went to high school with him. They used it in highschool. That was the first place it was used. Used there and like harvard. I dont really know all the details. Just my brother was there that first year and said back then it was the next big thing.
I am really surprised at what it has become, I remember joining way back when, thinking it was crap and then coming back later when it got better.
He he. Auto correct. You got it before I fixed it. I promise that wasnt on purpose. Funny, ironic and odd it was though.
