Under privacy, I have the box "show online status" unchecked, but on the forums page I see my name in the list of users online. Am I missing something?

Nope, you have everything set right. I can also see the little green corner on your avatar which indicates you're online. I will report it to XenForo.

yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I have mine "unchecked" but I still see my name in the list and the green corner thing. I was thinking that maybe I am the only one that can see my name on the list and others cant, but not sure
I can not see bushpilot name right now, but again i dont know if he is actually logged in either

I'm here. I can't see you online, if you still are. Perhaps only I (and moderators) can see that I am online?

I have a question in regards to this and it is simply a question that's all. I know that some have their setting at "do not show online status", but why ? I guess the reason I ask is if you call this place home away from home and say you are part of the family then why have that set ? Again not at all trying to ruffle feathers or anything like that just curious.

There are good reasons, the same reason why we don't use our full names, give our exact location, etc. It is good to maintain a certain level of privacy, and to control what you reveal about yourself.
