My local weather guy touched on this on Monday. A Model teaser. I'm sure the Sun will shine Sunday night. We'll manage the rest as it comes. Go Pat's!
It looks like your're in it Backwoods Savage , I think on Wednesday the high wind gust for our area is 46. AccuWeather changed us from ice to rain ...... I'm sure it will change a few more times before Wednesday.
They're calling for over half an inch of ice, 4-8 inches of snow with wind gust up to 37 mph so if we get that, I would think we could lose power. It pretty much starts on Tuesday with most of the ice coming in on Tuesday night. All info comes from AccuWeather.
The last time I bought tube sand at Agway in Potsdam the guy opened up the tailgate and saw all the tube sand already there so he said.......what do you need more for........I told him you can never have enough. We have a big garbage can full of sand in the garage too so we should be set. I think we have 10-12 70 pound tubes of sand in the back of the Ford 250.
I think we still have three or four 5 gallon buckets full of sand plus the small pail in the car. Might have more. Of course, now that most of the ground is not frozen I can just go out on the sandhill and get all I need. If I had your backhoe, I could just dig down for more!
Got 3" out of that deal but the winds are keeping it cool outside. May be another gloom and doom forecast?
If it ain't gonna be snow (which, believe me, it ain't been much snow for us all winter), I'd just as soon it warm up and become spring. I'm sick and friggin tired of wet weather. Every system that moves in, it warms up and rains, and at the end of the system it goes into freeze mode... I'm over it already..... Lol
This must have been the system that gave us the wind on Friday night at scout camp. We spent the night in our tipi outside. The wind was HOWLING at times, only a dusting out of it. There's very little snow on the ground here in the valleys but up at scout camp and on the mountain ridges west of us there's around 10" or more on the ground. That elevation makes a world of difference.
I hope AccuWeather is wrong with their ice prediction, 0.68 inches of ice for tomorrow according to the forecast today.
