GTG saw? Sure, I'll bring it if it holds together. I'm gonna use and run it hard when I can. Why go through the work and not play. That's like having a sports car, never hitting the red line and only taking it out a couple times a year. Why even have? If it dies I'll figure out what went wrong and improve. After market p/c are less than 20 bucks. From watching other vids of similar builds it looks like it might just be close to them but really will not know what the saw can do until I get a chance to run side by side with some others.
Looks like the Stihl 462c is a winner ... with a muffler mod and a sharp chain it should do well ... This vid is from Germany - not sure when / if it's coming to the states
I thought that you had a 462 then I read the next post It looks like it is a real good runner. Stihl keeps moving in the right direction with their new saws. The crazy thing is we are all wanting the 462 to come out and the 441 is back on the shelves.
McCulloch Super 797 after carb rebuild. Running lean - was just the initial settings. John we have to run the big yellows side by side for the boys at the GTG
Mine recently looked over my shoulder and noticed a pic in the chainsaw pics thread where someone had 3 or 4 saws lined up on a downed tree. She said... they're yours? I said nope. She got this big grin on her face and said... other people do that too???
Fed one of my Terry Industries Super XL-922 a full meal yesterday. Rebuilt top end using a piston and rings from a tossed 902. Used backing plate and bearing. New seals. Reworked ignition components. Tillotson with semi-fixed high speed. Only open 1/3 turn and still rich. Blocked off high speed governor. 28" bar and a full house chisel down to the witness marks. 7-pin. No frills.
