Or one of those 1000# rated 4 wheel furniture dolly carts...handy lil buggers!
Another option to unload from the back of the truck is to remove the tailgate and set a couple 2x8 (10s?) on the bumper and then slide it down...make sure the boards can't kick out...the stove descent rate can be controlled easily with a rope and a helper...or a come-along if you are by yourself. A couple pieces of pipe can make great rollers...the whole thing will slide easily across hard surface floors on thickly folded up towels...or across carpet on an old pieces of linoleum flooring...just a few ideas...

Thanks all...you've helped me confirm what my gut was already telling me. I'll call the shop tomorrow and tell them to wave the delivery crew off.

Pretty much did the NC-30 by myself. Take your time and work smart. You can do it!

Just confirmed with my neighbor that he can unload it with his tractor on Monday...I'll swing by the shop after work and have them load it up.

    I'm with Ed.
I moved my Fireview(450#) out and my IS(650#) in place myself. Just need the right dollies!
    The Rolls and Kari's dolly.

2 of us also put an 850 pound safe in the house with these.
I rent them from a local tool rental for $32

The hearth area is fully enclosed already...I actually considered having it delivered when I had a giant hole in the house, but I'm sure the kids would be effing with it the entire time

You should really get that stove delivered by someone. $300 isn't really that much compared to the hour or so that you'll save by having it done by someone else. I'll jump in the truck tomorrow and drive down from NH to move the stove the 8 miles from the shop to your house for you. You can just give me the three Benjamin's in a nondescript envelope before I offload the stove. While while we're at it, I might as well fill my newly emptied truck with some of WV's finest hardwood for the trip home.

Looks like your plan is coming together...

Got 'er poured today as planned, but not without much frustration. My drill burned out mixing the first batch,so I ran to HD to see if they had something that would work (which they did not), then headed home planning to bag the project. My neighbor convinced me to soldier on, and helped me mix the remaining 6 bags by hand. The first bag was already getting pretty stiff by then, so that made the whole screeding process pretty tough. I missed the float window since I was still trying to get the screeding done, so the surface is a bit "rustic". Oh well, a little patching paste, sanding, and stain should make it look just fine.

Masonry has always been my Achilles heel.

We have a small addition that doesn't get enough of the wood stove heat and my wife asked for something "instant" for her when she's chilly. So in goes a gas fireplace in a couple weeks for the purpose of "taking the chill off" only. I'm sure your all chuckling as you read this, I am too...we all know what she'll do when that stove lights, it will stay on until the chill turns to sweat. i can imagine the small wars that will come out of this.

You can put some granite cobble stones next to the current stove and when she goes into the other room, she can take them with her. Take advantage of the thermal mass. Voila.... instant heat.

Or if you really want to start a small war, just put a treadmill in the corner instead of that gas fireplace...."just hop on there for a few minutes, Babe. You'll warm right up!"
