I was chatting with another Green Supreme burner and he asked how do you decipher the code on the bags. So I figured it could be useful if I posted some details that may help others in the group. There are small dimple marks or raised dots on the bags. You might need to use a bright flash light to make them stand out!! Jaffery NH. plant has them on the front side upper left hand corner. For the Schuyler and Deposit NY plants they are on the back side upper left hand corner. What the codes mean? See example below and pic's that follow: This bag pictured has. 5246 2222 Upper code is the date code. Its the year/day/month. So the 5246 date is June 24th 2015 Lower code is the plant code. 1111 is Jaffery NH.* 2222 is Schuyler NY. 3333 is Deposit NY. *Note: I need to confirm the Jaffery plant code if anyone has some Jaffery bags. Please post the code for the group!! Thanks Also, Some do not believe the Green Supreme's are the same as NEWP. Here is a clip from an email a guy(thanks for sharing with me Jake) received from NEWP to confirm!! It also confirms locations to where to find the bag codes.
Been to the Jaffrey plant. Yes, they make both NEWP's and Green Supreme and the formula is the same for both. Pellets come off the same line and are poured into either bag. They also were loading white bags withe the same pellets that were destined for TSC's in the area.
Do you have any Jaffery bags? I need the code off the front to be sure I have the correct info posted above....
I do not at the present time but do recall previous posts elsewhere that the code was on the front of the Jaffrey bags. The manager of the Jaffrey plant said the pellets were different between the Jaffrey plant and the New York plants, primarily because the Jaffrey plant has more oak in their recipe than is available in New York.
Green Supremes 2017 I would assume these are from Jaffrey since that is <20 miles away from the Hillsboro Aubuchon's, where I found these
I've got about half a ton of these leftover from last year. They burned OK. Not the best, not the worse. I'll have to re-read the bag code. I did last season...but totally forgot what I found.
Bought a ton of NEWP from my local eastern PA pellet dealer. As of the summer of 2021 the imprinted code on the back of the bag is: 0112 1143 The codes must have changed over the years.
What are the other two numbers (at beginning and end) - there should be 12 digits altogether. You made me look. I got 6 bags of NEWPS last week and didn't look up the SKU, since the bags say made in Jaffrey, NH. I have no idea what year these pellets are since they were a FB Marketplace find - I had assumed they were last year's pellets which may not be the case. The SKU on these bags is 899186002089, and comes back as Currans. But Currans are NY so I am very confused.
The numbers I gave above are not the UPC code. The 0112 1143 numbers are actually imprinted on the plastic bag as described in the original post. My UPC code is 094922705440 on the 2021 NEWP bags. I do not see any type of SKU number on the bag. As jtakeman said, I bet the imprinted number coding changed with the Lignetics purchase of NEWP.
Interesting, that UPC (sorry, I used SKU which was incorrect) comes back to Georgia Peach Company. The NEWPS that I got don't have any other numbers on the bags besides the UPC, which is why I was confused with the original numbers you posted.
Georgia Peach Company is a reseller of UPC codes. Instead of paying for a GS1 membership, you can buy a code or range of codes from someone else.
