I had this pump on the first year burning and it kept leaking near flanges. I don't know much about pumps, dealer sold it to me with boiler. I took it off today and noticed the impeller was stuck from corrosion. Looking for a new pump, willl a taco 007 be enough, cast iron with bronze cartridge? 100ft run one way. Thanks!

No idea. There is all the math involved. I would just call Taco and talk to an engineer. They were cool and gave me the time of day. I ended up going with a different mfgr. But they were cool enough to try and work with me. As the old saying goes, "it never hurts to ask." Call them.

A taco 007 is a great pump. Yeah, you can get bigger taco pumps, but the 07s work great.

100 ft is nothing for them.

All pump suppliers that I've dealt with over the years have conversion charts that pretty much cross reference all competitors pumps. When you're on the phone with them, provide your model and brand and they should be able to provide you a comparable replacement, whether its an 007 or not. Any competent counter man will be able to come up with the answer quickly.

The corrosion is probably the bigger problem.
Those Taco pumps last. I would drain the system and flush it and refill with added corrosion inhibitor.
Maybe even use distilled water if you water is hard.

I plan on having 2 sets of pipe from boiler. 1 for house and 1 for pool. I don't plan on running the pool all year. Can I drain this loop?

I kept my circ pump running all year this year. In past years, I would start it up every few weeks for a day or two. Hasn't been changed since 08.

Keep the loop filled and start it to heat the exchanger up?

I never drain down the loops. Just keep it circulating.
As far as a pool application, you maybe better off asking the seller/dealer of your OWB

Of course, you would have to add enough for your whole system...not just the pool loop.

Sure hope that's not the case. There was no mention of it when the stove was bought back in 08.
