    I picked this up at a flea market for $12.50 needs a handle. Other pics call this a hewing flooring hatchet?

    Very nice. I like the look of the flat top on those carpenters hatchets.

    I have one, it came with a straight oval handle which I think is original. A good one for camping or anywhere you need to chop and hammer with the same tool.

    The steel seems to be very good which is not surprising since it was probably the same as what was used in the Plumb axes at that time.

    Mine was ground with a double bevel when I got it, which I just made a bit more convex. I can't tell from your photo whether yours has a single bevel or not?
