    Plum looks like raw bacon when fresh cut and split. It then seasons to a tannish- salmon color.

    I'm still thinking some type of ornamental cherry or plum. I've made pistol grips out of orchard plum trees and they don't look anything like that. I split some weird nusury cherry out of a classy subdivision front yard that looked a lot like that.
