I'm posting this to gauge interest. I have a customer with a half dead oak in their backyard. This is in the Camp Hill/New Cumberland, Pa area. It's beyond what I'm willing to do because of the way it hangs over the house and its condition. I'm going to hand it off to a friend of mine with a 75' bucket. I would like to find someone that would want the wood to help get the cost down for my customer. It's BIG. close to 30" DBH but I took dead tops out of it about 8 years ago so it's only about 40' tall. You can easily get a pickup in the yard. If you're reasonably skilled, you can back a trailer in there too. I'm not calling the bucket man until I find out if anyone is interested. So when the tree comes down is up in the air. On a guess, I would say it will be the end of Oct. early Nov till he could get there. There's a lot of BTU's in that tree but I'm swamped with ash right now and don't want to deal with that big oak. Let me know. Thanks.
Hey Joe, I'm pretty close. Is there any chance you could give me a pic or 2. I've had a few deals like this where I wouldn't have gone had I had a visual idea of the wood involved. I have an air bagged Tundra with a 4x8 1750# rated trailer just to give you an idea of how much I could move per trip.
I had just about given up. Glad I didn't call him and tell him I struck out. Yes. I'll stop by there tomorrow and take a couple pics. I'll post them up tomorrow night. Thanks for responding.
