Picked this up for $15 today. She's old but looks like there's still some "good" left in her. I've never used one of these before, any tips or tricks?

I never used one either, but man that tool looks real slick. If you don't use it hang it on the wall...

Great find there. Got an old one I picked up at the flea market and put a new handle on it. I love it on 30"+ oak rounds. Looks like that one has a good bit of life left in it. Like MikeyB said if you don't use hang her on the wall

I used one for a few minutes once to help an Amish gentleman move some logs I sold him off a trailer. Takes a bit to get use to them. But handy for rolling logs. Watch your feet and legs. I have watched them roll many logs off trailers over the years and most times they are in their bare feet!:faint:

Nice looking cant hook. Just use it as you see fit. If you can't get the hook to bite in you may have a log too big for your cant hook.

    Great score !
Used PV's are usually 50$ up here if the handle is good , I've not come across any cant hooks yet .
That one is nice , as Oldman47 said , use as you see fit .

I bought a second cant hook last fall at an auction for $7.00. It was used at least twice this winter along with my old one when I needed help rolling bigger logs to keep my chain out of the dirt. Rolling logs to save chains and moving rounds closer to the splitter is about the only things I can think of that I ever use them for.

Cants and peaveys can also be used to rock/roll a felled tree thats hung up in the canopy. Sometimes, it actually works!
