had a dinner guest. Landon is 14 months now, and I think corn on the cob is one of his favorite foods (soft serve ice cream cone still ranks #1!)

Just catching up on this thread. will711 , Looks like you had a good time with the get together. I am hoping to go to something like that real soon.
Sorry you car is acting out. On our van, I got the anything mechanical for as long as you own it extended warranty. On the KIA, I got the extended warranty that went from 60,000 to 100,000 miles. We don't drive alot so we are hoping to avoid a lot of $$ for repairs. Being retired and on a fixed income presents some limitations.

This was the 3rd trip in a row, That one of us put a 4 pounder in the boat. Pressures on Joey for next trip!! :D

This lake rarely has little to no wind. Plus it was overcast until mid day. Threw topwater baits for most of the morning, Thats when Joey got his chunk. Later in the day the sun popped out. He switched to jigs and big worms. I switched to swim baits and rip/jerk baits. I got my gorilla on the rip/jerk bait. Smithwick Elite 8 in black and chrome. So far I've got 2 over 4 pounds with it and loads of others(only bad thing is you catch a chit load of pickerel/pike). Works even better in the spring when the water is cold. You can work it much faster in the spring too, In the fall I slow down the action and pause it longer to keep it suspended in their face.

I took next Friday off and we'll do double duty(Friday and Saturday) as it might be the last weekend before the freeze comes. Once the nights go below freezing, I whimp out and do the winterizing, I don't want to freeze the live wells(if the pump housings crack it floods the bilge area-AKA sink the boat) or lower unit and break chit. To expensive to replace or repair. I'll keep watching the long range forecasts. Maybe go longer in no freeze happens?

No more twice daily trips to tend the chickens and coop snow removal, the last three birds were put down this weekend. Two are on the recycle pile I don't know where the third bird finally dropped. Close to the woods edge I believe. They can do strange things headless.
