Well I forgot to soak them and wash the starch off but they still turned out ok! They didn't stick too bad and they tasted great!!!
I've had 'me come out like that before. They tasted just fine. Didn't know you were supposed to rinse the starch off of 'em. Will have to try that next time.
Pallet Pete , it is all in how you look at them... I think they look pretty good. And I bet that mug with all the flames keeps your coffee warm! KaptJaq
Were you at a breakfast/brunch picnic? I hate eating eggs off a paper plate---with that fancy mug I'd think you'd demand a full service setting including charger!
We taught the girls to make hashbrowns on Easter. Shred spuds, then rinse until water runs clear or you'll get black hash! Fried in coconut oil which really makes them nice.
Well you'd probably not like my place then. With our schedule we eat off paper at least once a day. Usually breakfast. Our lunches are packed in the mornings and dinner is usually off regular dishes. It makes for WAY less work cleaning up. I like time to do other things that need done rather than dishes.
Eah foods food tastes the same either way to me. That said I defiantly enjoy eating off the stoneware it brings back lots of childhood memories! My mother served most meals on stoneware but there was the occasional paper plate battle at the table too.
I can honestly say that I have never rinsed potatoes for making hash browns out of them. Never had any troubles....but I also did experience the "mash" type of hash browns when using the fresh red potatoes (they're the best!)....but no matter, just fried them a little longer. Pete, what the heck is up with that bacon? Must be turkey bacon? (Bluche!)
