Well today was opening day for rifle season. I loaded up the Durango...... Ok, so no deer pics, but I did get another load of dead and dry locust and a half load of dead and dry red oak. I did have the marlin with me in case some dumb buck wanted to come watch me running the chainsaws. 20171021_151609_resized.jpg 20171021_134334_resized.jpg

Not going home empty handed. And I have had Deer investigate while cutting, so keep the rifle handy, right!

I always have the rifle with me, but I didn't intend on seeing any deer or bear (also open)...... better to be prepared. I don't hunt opening day anymore..... to many people out

Chainsaws and farm equipment are deer magnets! They're just too curious to stay away.
Nice load of BTU's you've got there. :woodsign:

Buddy of mine had this one walk under him while in his stand this morning. Archery season here for deer right now. Bear in November.
He said it walked along the stone wall. I thought that was interesting.
He didn't report out on any fire wood.

In the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, our local friends tell us the place to hunt is where they are logging. Once the guys take the last load of logs for the day, the deer come in and eat the tops.

We have an abundance of those black "deer" here. Some are more friendly than others. This is my wife feeding him sunflower seeds and scratching his ears.... maybe its just a big dog. Yes we know its dangerous to feed the bears, touch the bears, make friends with the wild bears.... she doesn't care and there is no changing her mind 20170904_192459_resized (2).jpg

Wow. Early for gun season for deer. Ours opens mid-November. Archery season now.

Yes, deer do get curious with farm equipment but mostly the does and fawns. Some young bucks but not usually the big boys.
