Local Aubuchon's has them for $6.99/bag. Don't know ton price. Didn't think to get the UPC code - will do so next time I'm there.
Noticed Somersett's at TSC here in Wytheville....$5.29 a bag and 20¢ off/bag if 50 bags/ton purchased... Is that a good deal?
Sorry, but really didn't know that what you're paying is higher because of where you live, or the Okie's are just that darn awesome So, are the Somersett's gooder?
Well, I've never used the Platinum's so don't know. I've heard that Somersetts were really good - but I've never even so much as seen a bag of those. Heck, a good price for FSU's is $250/ton - and those are middling pellets (which I tend to like, so not slighting them).
To be fair to the Okies, the same place has GS for $6.79/bag (and they are made about 20 miles away ). Living in the Bermuda Triangle (30 miles from a decent sized town/city), if you can't travel for your pellets (or get reasonable delivery rates), then you are going to be paying high prices for even mediocre stuff. TSC is the only store in town that has reasonable prices.
The jury is still out on that a different product in the same bag this season , prolly gonna be a very good pellet ,just priced higher than most of us here are willing to spend
look pretty long...like the one in the upper LH window and others in there......i have a ton of them i bought back in 2015 havent tried them yet,but dey dont look like those. those ones there look like Vanderhoof which I will never buy again
They don't look overly long to me - but I've seen some crazy stuff in the low cost pellets I usually buy. I will probably buy a bag or two to try out just for the experience. Unfortunately any coupons from Aubuchon's always has the disclaimer of can't be used on pellets.
if the rumors are true and those are lg's many of us could get them cheaper in their own bag and cut out the middle man. LGs have always been more reasonably priced than the oakie plats i am seeing on the market.
Length seems very subjective. The most recent complaint I have, from a couple months ago, was that the pellets were too short. He couldn't find any over 3/4".
I personally think 1/4 is to small and lends itself to lots of fines , 1/2 inch - 1 inch seems to be the sweet spot.
