Looks like a very nice install. Beyond looks, it looks like a good install regarding using / filling / maintaining the stove as well and that suffers a lot of the time I think. Making a nice looking installation is all fine and well but if a person is going to use a stove for the majority of his / her winter heating then the ability to get to the stove, easily swing the door(s) fully open, stand and squat in front of the stove, and having some room to put down enough wood to fill the stove becomes very important too. Looks like you have great access and plenty of room both in front and at least to one side of the stove and I think that will pay you back as you have to use it for months and months per year. Brian
One little hiccup. I misjudged the back clearances. So this requires the front to be shorter. Unfortunately its going to have to come out a few inches and hopefully it will be a simple enough fix. They also had an oops but not a bad one. They couldn't account for all the stove piping in the roof. So they had to add on an additional charge for an extra 3 feet of pipe. It was not large and because they couldnt judge from the inside of the attic crawl space, they didn't send someone up there during the estimate but I think this was to be expected that the estimator did well despite on a time crun. Im just glad it wasn't a massive increase. We'll see how this works.
Well she's fininshed. I guess I can finally change my info at the bottom of my profile. The Hunt for Black October is over. Also I revise my clearance issue to a non issue.... I lucked out. Really. 16 inches from door to edge...right on the money.....
Finally gonna be able to post in that "What ya burnin'?" Thread finally. Too stoked. See what I did there?
