Cow manure is pretty heavy and it held that at some point! As long as the steel isn't rotted it should work out.
Two questions: 1. I like your trailer; can you give some details on it? 2. Did you add the trailer hitch to the blade on your grapple? Can you show some details of it? (OK, 3 questions)
Looks sturdy! Did some quick math - That thing could hold almost 3/4 cord of wood without heaping! There's always people out there ripping decks down and giving the wood away if any of the boards are bad...
That's a retired USMC trailer that was 4 sale by the side of the road, iirc like $300 - prolly 15 years ago. I added the log bunks. It's not the best design for dragging through the woods being a "wagon" but for what I've got into it, she's perfect and I usually drag out to a clearing where there's room to load it with the tractor. Yes I added the hitch, but I also built the whole thing so it's a "one of". I've added a 2" receiver tube to a friends old Farmi, but it was an old one that did not have the stacking blade. For your winch, I'd think about this "channel" type. Usually the channel is on the trailer and they make either ball or pintle ring type that pin or bolt on. This is not my idea, I've just seen similar on other winches. Looks like it would not be in the way if you actually chaining logs to your butt plate (I don't think anyone actually does).
Great question! I bent the original tongue on the trailer by trying to PUSH a heaping load of wet compost. After that, I replaced the tongue with a length of 2" square stock and put a sturdier latch on to keep it from dumping accidentally. In this picture, I had already moved the pivot point of the dump to the center of the trailer so it balanced enough to be dumpable by hand. As for pulling, my BCS tractors will pull like crazy and are never short on power.
Do you make those 2 wheel tractors? You see those in other countries and they were hear years ago but not much anymore
I buy them as rototillers. They are made to accept all sorts of different implements. Both of mine are made by BCS, which is an Italian company. I always dreamed of finding a couple salvage BCS tractors and making one all-wheel-drive, four-wheeled tractor.
Haha, I have no idea, I will have to go back n look! I was at northern tool a few weeks ago and the metal carts are so cheap now and the tires look like fat beach cruiser tires, they will punch down through soft soil and bottom out easy. Those plastic ones, they had several ones, seemed the best buy for your money.
I wish I had returned mine... I am planning on going this route in October when we visit walt ATV Trailer?? Hoping to pic up a log arch at the same time
Nope not Lee Majors. Paint was like that when I got it. I want to do a shade tree job on it myself. But I don't like to wait and I don't have the patience for the prep and wait. If I do it I will do a panel at the time and work on it so that I can do one area and use the truck then do the next.
