Id wait to put the Caber rings in before I assemble it. Those 1127 are a pain to get at the jug. Not just a quick 10 min job.

I wouldn't run those wrist pin clips. They are just waiting to ruin that motor IMO. OEM clips are cheap enough.

    Thank you for the pics!

What Brian said ! Ditch the wristpin retainers . Other than that , looks like you are going to have a decent runner ! Enjoy !!

Is there a good place to get these on ebay? I can't seem to find them. Thank you all for your input! This is my first chainsaw rebuild so I appreciate you guys walking me through it! The only thing is I don't have a wrist pin clip installer and don't want to ruin them while trying to put them in. I wonder if the stihl dealer down the road would pop em in real quick for me?

If you have a dealer down the road, I would buy them there if he has 'em. Buy a couple extras if it's your first time. ;) They can be installed carefully just by pressing them into place with a small flat screwdriver. The thing to avoid is squeezing them into place with with a pair of pliers.

Yea you can install them with a screw driver and be care full.

The clips are probably just as cheap at a dealer

X2 on the screw driver. I have had good luck starting the one end then just ease the rest in a little at a time as you work your way around the opening.

If you start to think about picking up a pair of needle nose pliers, stop and slap yourself. Then proceed with the screw driver. :D

If you get impatient think of all the many years of service the saw will give you if you take your time and do the job right.

For wrist pins I get it started and then keep my thumb over it while working it in so if it kicks back its not getting lost forever.

That is likely why mastermech reccomended buy a couple extras . I'm sure most of us have heard the dreaded ping of a departing E- clip ,or circlip ,followed by the sound of it hitting something in the furthest darkest spot in the shop .

I filed a groove in an old screwdriver and work it in as described above. Ive taken to taping my thumb with electrical tape to prevent the driver from finding its way deep into my flesh lol. It sorta works!

the best method to put circlips is to use a tube about 10cm long and little smaler than the piston groove hole , for example if you have 10mm c-clip use a tube 9 mm
then you just put the clip inside the tube next the tube to piston and with something a hair smaller of tube diameter ( 9mm ) you push the c-clip to the piston .
    works perfect everytime

I put some lights to this . go and buy some neodymium magnets the best that you can find ten of them are good then put them around the piston ................ now you are ready to install the circlips . perfect everytime :D

Start from one end and work the other with a screwdriver. Keep a hand over if possible
