Mechanic came and got the 3550 today. He will take care of the problems while I'm on my work days.

I do not have my tractor, once again.:(
They came to get it and took it to their shop six days ago. After speaking with them today and explaining I have days off and need my tractor back I was told it is "all apart" and the mechanics is figuring it out. But is out of work today.:picard:They have one mechanic for the tractors.

So far my issues have been:
(Well, the ones I can remember.)

    1. Hydraulic leaks. Many. This hydraulic fluid
ends up on my property. And continues to.
    2. Steering problems. Bolts had fallen
completely out of the steering mechanism
where it connects to frame of tractor. I was
told best not to drive it. (Ya think?) And they
need to take it. More time I couldn't do
    anything.
    3. Power lead problems to battery. Severe
corrosion. More loss time when it won't start.
    4. "Bogging down" loss of hydraulic power,
preventing me from doing anything further.
    5. Transmission problem. Complete loss of low
gear. Tractor will not go into gear.

Dealer says he does not have the ability to buy it back. I told him he can take the money off for full price of the quick attach and a couple thousand for the 260 hours on it. He says he can't buy it back. So here I sit with several days off and no tractor.

I am contacting Mahindra. I have a feeling they won't buy it back either.

I agree you spent thousands of dollars for a tool that you cannot use when you need it. that's not functioning the way it's supposed too.

If the dealer had the ability to sell it, he has the ability to buy it back. If he keeps saying he doesn't tell him you want to talk to someone who does. Shoot for a full buy back. It is worth it for your troubles. Don't start out saying I'll deduct a couple thousand. If none of this works find out when the rep come by the dealer and meet him. Good luck!

If I had a tractor I bought new at the stealership for work at 240 hours and they told me "it was in pieces" I would be pushing for a buy back. Usually they can never seal it back up or be as clean as the factory where it was assembled.

I would explain a warrenty should really be for major catastrophic failures and repairs to those. This is not a time to guess at what it could or couldnt be. You bought a new , not repaired, tractor and that is what you want . If that transmission is apart I would hit the roof iF I were you.

I haven't seen it. Dealer told me its apart. Fenders off, seat off, etc, etc I don't know if transmission is apart. I'm very pizzed to say the least. I stayed calm with him while on the phone. I have a problem with my tractor. Not him. This is a Mahindra problem. I should have known better. Dam.

and it may have just been that. Parts off of it, like seats, fender, dash whatever. Could just be a simple sensor or valve. I hope that's all. I would not be as upset over that. If the transmission were in pieces and the tractor split that's a different scenario.

I don't think the transmission not going into low gear is a simple sensor or valve. I don't know if an adjustment will fix it either, but I'm not a mechanic. The hydraulic bogging down or loss of power. Don't know. New hydraulic leak at large piston on backhoe. That's about the fifth or so hydraulic leak. All different places. UGH.

Yes. But I'm afraid I may have to lose too much money on it.

All I can do is wait until it is all fixed. And then decide what to do. How could I feel right selling it outright to someone else?

I am surprises that many cylinders are leaking those things shouldn't have any issues I wouldn't think for 10 years or so on a tractor that only gets a few hundred hours a year.

One of the stabilizer cylinders on the backhoe started dropping after about two or three weeks of getting the tractor. I showed this to the mechanic as soon as he came over for another repair issue I had. He said "Ya, sometimes they do that. And we've tried fixing them before but they usually drop again."

Must be terrible quality orings and seals. You should not have to repack a cylinder that often?

Like I would expect 10 to 20 years??
