I believe their issue was having bark mixed in with the raw fiber. I remember seeing pictures of the piles of ash/clinkers back then and couldn't believe what I was seeing.

The website doesn't explain why the pellets sucked but now are good.

    Pretty sure slvrblkk rb did.......

Most of their fiber(IIRC) is log to chips and they were not getting enough of the bark off. Since then, They(Scot Linkletter ) has made several changes to improve the product and mill operations. And still adding improvements to continually improve.

His latest addition is a power generation facility to produce their own power for an even greener product.

Back then then were a new mill and having growing pains like most mills do. I think they were the only pellets that I have ever returned. A lot of it was because of bark. But like Larry said, they have come a long way and are now pretty much established as a pretty decent pellet. They have been used by an awful lot of people on this site at one time or another.

I seldom go to Lowes but did stop in last week since I was over that way and the "new pellet" here is Trae Heat. I searched for reviews and what I found was they suck! IF I go back over that way I'll snap a pic for ya. I was in TSC and they had the same stuff as last year...white bag, blue lettering claiming are Lignetics. Another place here is carrying Lignetics green label. HD had Stove Chow. I didn't pay a lot of attention to any of the pricing since I have a ton of Hardwood Heat (Hamer's) from last season.

No yet, First time I've seen them in my area. I'm going to try to grab a couple next week if they still have any.

Sister pellet to O Malley's IIRC.
