Thanks for the education! I like learning more about the saws that were popular (and not so popular....) before I was old enough to tear things apart..... Too bad I can't afford more tuition right now!
It's really a 261 with a little less snap......the 254 is on a noticeably smaller platform, but still in the same "family".
Thanx for all the interest fellas ! Guess ill have to give up on selling this old girl. Wish i could give a better deal
I wouldn't give up on it. We are getting more and more members every day. Some body will want a nice 50 cc class saw for cheap. I won't close the thread. We will leave it open, for those that may not check the Classifieds often.
It's just a matter of the right buyer at the right time Fuzz. Give it a rest for a few weeks and try again.
Its ok fellas !! Ive sold a ton of things in my life . Sometimes its easy...sometimes its not !! I have noticed a Husky saw with "xp" after the number sells quicker !! Ill hang onto the saw. I know a day will come when it finds a new home
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the 'family' shares the same crankcase but the 254 is the odd stepchild with a different fuel tank, crankshaft, cylinder, carb, filter, covers etc.
That sounds right and would explain why the 262 p/c will fit but the saw has a "smaller" feel. Thanks for pointing that out Mike
This is a real good deal on this saw, and I'm not just saying that. I think it would sell on another site within a day, it just hasn't found a new home yet on here, but it will. Heck, I would be proud as a peacock to have this saw for what you are asking, I just don't have the room right now. Very good deal from a good guy, no doubt about it.
130 is fine. Considering these probably had 150 to 160 when new. Ive ran saws for years on 90 psi. Its all what makes a fella get some sleep at night i guess Since its going to stay mine now i guess......i should be able to easily get about 10 to 15 years out of it now !
$175 pho .... $10 shipping in lower 48 ! Any takers ? You wont find a better deal. This takes small mount 3/8 or .325.
