I was thinking of it essentially replacing the external transfer cover that brings the bridge all the way down. I don't know what removing that much of the lower block would do for case pressure... still thinking on it. Longevity wouldn't be a concern for me.

I'd buy a $20 45mm 346 top end first . Maybe you get lucky and it runs good. Fun to play with, anyway. That saves your oem stuff to put on a friend's or customer's 350 when they toast it
