I am new to this forum, and all forums, I was wondering how to post pics. Do I need to set up an account somewhere else? I appreciate any help.

Just click the "upload a file" button (below) and choose an image. If it is more than 2000x2000 pixels I recommend resizing it. I personally use images no bigger than 1000 pixels tall or wide.

    Nice to meet you :)

I use a computer with a mouse. With google chrome I can both upload via the button mentioned above, and well as copy and paste from internet sites.

I belong to a couple different forums, this one is by far the easiest one to posts pics on

Simply right click on the pic, that brings up a bunch of options to choose, click on "copy image" than come here and write your post and right click again and click "paste" easy peasy / done deal

Iphone and Ipad both work great. Most of my posts are from these devices.

What am I doing wrong? I tap on the upload button and the choose file box comes up, but when I tap the 'choose file' button, nothing happens. The 'close' button works.

iPhone 6 if it matters. Two weeks in, after years of android.

My choose file box goes away by itself after the pic is loaded. Sometimes I have to wait for longer than usual for a pic to load. Try waiting longer, and dont press close and wait and see?

I get nothing when I press 'close file'. Nothing at all happens. Don't know what it's supposed to do. I've only posted pics from my android phone for the last however many years.

Happens to me on an iPad too, sometimes the choose file button is dead. I've found that if you scroll the screen before you hit the upload a file button so that the popup window is placed differently relative to the window behind it, I can usually get the choose file button to work...hope that makes sense.

Have you granted your browser access to your photos?

Elaborate, please. I've seen this for Facebook photos and such.

It's an adjustment, for sure. Android seems a little easier and more intuitive, but I'm done with Google and the forced updates that jack up a perfectly good phone. Too many manufacturers using an operating system and trying to put their own spin on it. Too much crap and bloat ware that takes too much effort to get rid of.

    Pretty happy so far.

I had a 5c for two days last summer, then took it back for a G2. Size was a factor. The 6 is a little smaller than the G2, but part of that is made up for by not losing the bottom of the screen to any buttons. The 6 plus is a little more than I wanted.

My BIL is an apple sales manager and big time apple geek. He's helped me quite a bit the last couple weeks.

Today I installed chrome, and was able to upload a pic.

Then I tried safari again, and was able to upload a pic? Sometimes it takes a few tries, whereas chrome works every time I tap the 'choose file' button.

    Dunno.

Yep, that's how Safari treats me on the iPad, too. I have to tap Choose File (3) times before it lets me pick an image!
I'm used to it by now...

I find it a little strange that safari isn't supported by a lot of sites and software, and glitchy with a lot more, given the explosion of Apple products the last few years.

There is another forum I frequent that switched to xenforo over the winter, and must have the latest and greatest. There is an add image button under the reply box that goes straight to my photos.

We don't purposely support or not support any browser, but I can tell you that Chrome on all devices works better than the standard browser. I use Chrome because it works better, it doesn't work better because its the one I use. Safari seems to work ok but can be very picky. The Android browser used to be real basic, but I haven't used it lately. Firefox for PC has been a frequent cause of bugs and some rendering, but I have tried to iron them out as best as I can. Haven't heard much from the IE crowd.

At some point in the near future when the next big version of Xenforo comes out and gets a few bug fixes we will do an upgrade. This takes several hours and made everyone crabby last time, so I try not to do it often.
