We try and fill a niche market Sub.....and just like expensive liquor, clothes, shoes and even cars, we are trying fill that void for a market that is asking for our type of pellets. They probably aren't for everyone and if the MWP's work for you ...then you stay with them....but like Baskin and Robbins we are tying to give to the market what some (not all) are asking for. MWP may not work as well for everyone or they have a stove that prefers a different type of pellet. Bringing in some of these pellets from the West Coast can get pricey....but everyone has lots of choices out there and not everyone has the same tastes in things... Isn't that what makes life interesting.....Options....!!!!
Welcome aboard !! Ive given up on the shell game of some brands and stick with what I know is good chit. Dont get me wrong. I will use a new brand that is priced well and seem to be performing but not on over the top premium dollar pellets.
And that works... However, like I have said before... You can get a hamburger for $1.39 at Wendy's.... or... You can get one for $6.95 at Five Guys.. Every now and then, I like to treat myself to a Five Guys burger, and their awesome fries... But I can't do it every day... But there is a difference in price, I am willing to pay. Just like cars.. I have a garage queen that I put "maybe" 500 miles on a year.. The Honda gets me everywhere I need to go... for a lot less money... But I love the other.. And waited 50 years to get it. Everyone knows what they want, and what they can afford to do.. If no one bought Douglas Fir... they would not be available... I never would have believed there would be so many! Just shocking. Dan
Hey Guys, Looks like a very lively discussion going on here! Unfortunately, there is a lot of confusing information out there, and I do apologize to the consumers, because it makes for a frustrating (to say the least) buying experience, and to the dealers, who place their faith in the information we give them, and whom are on the front lines fielding production inquiries. At Okanagan Pellets, we take our role very seriously in making sure to we give our dealers all the tools they need to make the most informative buying decision for their customers. We always provide independent lab tests of our pellets, and free product for own testing – all before becoming a dealer partner. At the end of the day, I could talk my dealer blue in the face on why he should carry our pellets, but I don’t, because I want him to be an informed buyer, and know exactly what he is carrying so there are no surprises. I think our dealer partners owe that to their pellet customers. It comes down to two things: 1. The quality of pellets in the bag. 2. How well are you being serviced. It’s great to have options and test out what works best for your stove and family’s budget. As always, if you have any direct questions for me, feel free to reach out via my phone or email. I also live in NH and would be happy to meet up for a coffee or beer...mostly beer though.
Hello.... Oh.. we have seen and tested the new Okie Doug Fir and we are loading up our yard with the new pellet. A few months back Okanagan provided us with a ton sample and we gave all the pellets to loyal customers who have used the Okanagan brand for years. Every single customer was extremely impressed and most have placed their Early Buy orders, as well, for the Okie Doug Fir. We have done a lot of work with Chris from Okanagan and are very happy with the new Okanagan.

Well dougie ain't responsible for what his dealerrs tell their customers, blah, blah, blah, they wouldve never got that from the dealer they bought from. If you are buying that baloney i got a bridge in ny to sell you but i aint never used a bridge before but trust me its the best bridge ever.
There is a 3rd component: Price. Price, Quality, and Service (sometimes called Speed) are the 3 corners of what branding experts call the "Unattainable Triangle." Nearly all businesses have 2/3 of the triangle. The Unattainable Triangle :: Branding
I've often tried to add the dollar factor to my personal testing. And it usually puts those elite brands out of the picture. Example: If product A is 18% more expensive than product B and only 3% better? Product A isn't considered.
