Just wanted to extend a heartfelt wish for a wonderful Independence Day to all our FHC family. With the turbulent, crazy and seemingly endless political banter we are in the midst of right now, it's not hard to lose the understanding of what our forefathers endured securing our freedom almost 240 years ago......so take a moment to think about that.....I mean REALLY think about it...... With that said, extend your love to EVERY ONE out there today. No matter WHAT people do, say, or feel about one thing or another, we all are guilty of our shortcomings. We need to unite, through those diferences, to become that awesome country we were destined by God to be....... Have a wonderful July 4th, everyone! God Bless America!!

I'm hoping the weather straightens up here......the past 10 hours we got a most 4" or rain locally!! It's been UNREAL. But I ain't letting that ruin my day. Time to pump the water out of the keyhole pit and get a fire going!! This flower pot was EMPTY when we turned in last evening. There's around 7" of water in it now!!!
Wow. It's overcast here with a chance of showers. According to the local weather, it's going to clear up in time for the fireworks. As I don't listen to them normally, I'll believe it when I see it. We could use some rain, but I'd prefer not to get 4" all in one storm. Jason from RI

Without getting political... I was really happy to see the local fireworks display last night to remind us of how great this country still is. I hung this eagle on my front porch the other day. It belonged to my grandfather and was on his home for years. It was probably purchased in 1976 for our nation's Bicentennial. It is right next to my new flag sign from a local maker. There is no better time then the present to hang it.
Happy Independence Day to everyone, here on FHC or not. Might have to grill some chicken (store bought). I knew if you put enough wood in the pit, no need to pump. You can now steam some veggies or something.

It finally stopped up here too , we didn't get what you got today Scotty ,but I did on Tuesday 4 + inches in a very short time frame ground is saturated around here . A few pics the flower pot is 10" deep
