For now... picked up this 2003 Quad 1200 for $200 this morning. It's super dirty and needs gaskets. So a little elbow grease and some $$$ I think I may be able to get $800 out of it. We'll see, worst I can keep it or parts it out. Came with a brand new extra auger motor.

    So far I ordered:

    #1 snap disk - $18.00
    7/8" door gasket - $21.00
    Burnpot gasket - $12.00
    Comb. blower - $75.00
    Comb. blower gasket - $5.00

The combustion blower is the original and was definitely never removed before. Everything still has black paint from when they sprayed everything at the factory. It was LOADED with ash. The air inlet was also loaded, the stove had to have been choking itself which would explain all the black coating everything inside the stove.

Two test stoves would make your results much more accurate.......

Great Find! You got it for a money making price!
Are you going to get rid of that gold trim? That will make it more sellable!

I was going to try and clean it up but there's a spot where it's a little pitted. I'm not sure yet.

don2222 What did you do, just sand the door down and hit it with high temp primer and paint or just paint?

Yes, I wire wheel and sand with Emory cloth, then clean with acetone and paint with high temp primer and then stove bright for the finish coat.

Does it hold up good? Seems it might scratch easily.

IMO, give the brightwork a once over with brass polish, and call it good.....you're trying to make $$ on this flip, Pellet Monkey.

From what I see in the pic, it looks like the bright work isn't too bad. And the rest of it looks to just need some cleaning and light sanding/painting w/ inexpensive flat black stove paint.
