Menards has FVP bar oil gallons for five bucks each! Just thought I'd get the word out. I've used the stuff for awhile with zero issues. Good stuff. Looks like it's on sale for the next two weeks, til June 28,2015.
not sure northern Michigan see those warmer temps. most of us northern folk don't like to work that hard when it's that warm. cut wood all day at 50 at 85 you fix things on wife's list in cool garage with a but if it's thinner I wonder how it would work on chainsaw attachment on stihl, combi, 135? running low on that lighter weight oil it call for..
Honestly, I've never cut any wood when it's that hot out, and other than an emergency, have no reason, need, nor want to. So no, I haven't. But I do like wd40. Works very well on bicycle/go cart chains, and most everything else for that matter.
Well if thats true thats no good. I cut plenty of wood over 95F. And what about loggers my guys dont stop when its over 85!!!! Thats a cool day!!! It was 97 today.
I won't cut in weather that hot unless I absolutely have to. This bar oil works well into the mid 70s for temperatures. Good enough for me. I'll be on the lake in mid 80 degree temps with no question about if the bar oil is too thin.
Yeah but clemsonfor, I wouldn't consider a south Carolina boy "northern folk". Warped5, said it was no good over 85! thinned out too much. I believe him. he from Indiana it can get hot there too! I have seen 80 3 time so far this year.. high today is 67. lake is at 60.. but I can shovel snow at 20 below...
Cut a small load today. The high was 100. But it was only about 85 this morning when I was sawing, and I did cheat and have a loader load me
