    Been interested in those winch set-ups for the big stuff.

    I have been seeing those on various videos. The winch should help me apply uniform speed to moving a saw through the wood.

    Well I have not given up on wanting to do some small milling projects. Lately there has been a thread running about a DIY Farmertec MS660. That, to me, looks more like a viable saw with its 90cc nominal engine size. Any thoughts on using one of those for milling?

    Milling is a pretty heavy duty job for a chainsaw. I blew up a ported 660. My fault though. How big is small? I might go with the proven 7910 if you're thinking smaller logs or softwoods.

    All I have is hardwoods. As far as small, I am thinking limit it to under a 30 inch Alaskan mill so maybe 2 feet or smaller.

    Well I think you'd be real happy with a 661... :D:saw::saw:
