It seems a lot of people are switching to gas or just using their oil burners . So I'm thinking stove prices will have to go down or not move.

Yeah, maybe a little bit. Most likely the used market may have some deals.

I've been scouring Craigslist for a while now in search of something for s friend. Not many deals to be had to be honest. People seem to be looking for top dollar on used stuff

Besides the sales events they have around fall, I don't think we'll see much for stove price reductions. Since 2012's oil glut, Prices for stoves have remained stable or increased slightly.

But ya never know, Ya might find a shop sitting on a left over willing to make it go bye bye?? Are you still looking to replace the quad?

Still thinking about the P61a if not this year then next . I'll probably go new from the dealer mostly because of delivery don't want to deal with the problems of moving it , just a little over what I feel comfortable with in weight.

If thinking Harman might drop in prices, I kind of doubt it. If there is anything that might drop would likely be big box or internet models.

As J pointed out, keep a look out for specials from Harman dealers in the fall. In 2009, I bought the P68 in early Sept and got a pretty good deal. IIRC it was about 3500 including ICC venting and installation. Today I would do the install myself, especially an up and straight out one like mine.

    Hi Russell
The P61a is only 250 lbs and well balanced. According to the army it is what they call a 2 man lift since their one man lift standard is approx 125 lbs.
However a good 2 wheeler with a drop down as I call it can wheel it around very well. I use the escalara stair cat on heavier stoves,
Also if you can get a P61 manual real cheap, it can be updated with the auto lite kit. I have done it many times now and it is not too hard if you like that tinkering.
I have 2 P61a-2s I got used and fixed up for my house and garage. They both needed some parts but that was easy too. Used Harmans for the most part I have found really need the latest circuit board to work well. Just my experience. :)

Did u see this P61a for $2k? - That is what they go for in good shape.

I assume you were referring to the river and not the town when you said the Saco.

Oh, if only it wasn't 2 hours away - I would love to get my hands on more Cubex. Of course, assuming that they aren't priced like the bags were stuffed with gold :emptywallet::emptywallet:
