Cooler today. 109 yesterday in Redding. Now Oregon's burning, smoky down here.

Waiting to get the truck back, it's getting a new Edelbrock/Weber quadra-jet. Hoping for better than 6.5 mpg. 272xp upgrade is almost done, should be ready to go once the weather cools a little more.

That 4.56 3/4 ton is what's getting you.

My 1980 k10 has a quadrajet. It runs perfect and gets 8mpg loaded pulling trailer. And will get 10 normal driving. If I baby it I can get 12 but that is Babieing it.

Yes, but the crudely adapted Rochester 2-barrel is not helping. Looking to find (though not very hard) a set of higher geared Danas to swap. I only use it to cut wood and plow snow, and I haven't needed to plow in about 4 years. What climate change?

We had 51 this morning but they say we're in for seven days without rain, that will be a first this summer.

46 here this morning. Supposed to be up to 68 this afternoon. Riding the atv I had to put gloves on and wished I had the windshield on too.

Redding just broke the all-time record for the number of 100+ days in a year (set in 1988) and it's not even September yet.

I'd be burning my stove wide open almost at that temp!! We have thin blood down here in the south!

The lowest temp I saw on the car was a brisk 35 this morning just a few miles down the road...no frost at those temps!

You can get frost on surfaces at that temp. We do here all the time

Nope, sorry. 35 is above freezing. Surface temps have to be colder that freezing. Laws of nature still apply all over the planet. :D

Well somehow surface temps are somehow colder cause I get frost all the time and it says 35 or 36? Clearly that surface is 32

    Yeah, same thing happens here.

Lots of times, on the roofs of houses. Kinda doesn't make sense, no? Many of the houses around here are old and poorly insulated. Being such, there will be heat loss through the roof of the house, right? Figure that would be enough to keep the frost off, but no.

Readily noticeable on vehicles too, of course. The mornings with the heavy dew then frost easily turns into an ice scrapping frenzy if your car/truck is outside!

Anyway, area temps this morning are once again in the upper 30's. I'm sure if I took a ride down the road 4 miles, I would find 35 or even less once again!

Those temps seriously are winter morning temps around here! And you don't have a fire, even if it is a quick one, a kindling fire and maybe 2 splits?
