Whelp, I did it. High of 55, rain won't stop, just dreary out. So, the BKK is working tonight.
Just glad I had enough dry wood squirreled away to fill it.

Lit the boiler tonight.. not for heat, but because I forgot to cap the chimney in June when we stopped burning. :/ Got a hot little fire going to burn it dry, now she's got her bucket on top of the chimney. Oops.

You can have mine. Came out of the tunnels E-bound tonight, the hail was fierce but the rain........ I can't recall rain that hard. I felt like I was driving a boat at 25mph, hydroplaning so much you couldn't go any faster, and I was the fast guy on the hwy. And that's why I run snow tires all year 'round.

We got it pretty good but I didn't check the rain gauge this morning, I'm guessing but if we received 0.75 inches of rain that would be the high.

I'll get another day of cleanup and some splitting in before the next round comes in on Thursday and I might cover some shoulder season wood.

Our next big project will be dropping some smaller pines so our trails around the house are wider for winter plowing with the 4540.

Welcome. That's a cool little stove. Surprised you wood store wood underneath, is it supposed to go there? If I had wood touching my stove that close to the bottom of the firebox I'd be con erred it would spontaneously combust

Wow! If I'm right, that equates to a bit over 64 degrees. We love that weather.

Well, for sure the fine rain messes things up a bit. I might too have a fire with those conditions.
