Had a good fire going so decided to give this shank some extra flavour. A bit of colour and smoke, then I braise it in a curry.
Winner winner...chicken (?) dinner. It's goat. A farmer near my friend's place raises them and sells the meat. It's really nice.
Here is the finished dish. Braised in a curry sauce and taken off the bone. Added a hard boiled egg for kicks. Served with rice and some naan bread.
Looks good. Besides for a goat flavor, what does it taste like for comparison? Looking forward to your future dishes. I was a chef in another life, passion was Italian cuisine
I guess it's a bit like lamb...but milder even. This stuff was from a young goat so it was especially mild.
Oh...and I love Italian food (who doesn't?). But in the last few years I've been having more fun with japanese, indian, chinese and mexican.
