I can check on my test account later, but something you can check... Do you have a "delete thread" option under your Thread Tools?
I think he wants to know if we can turn that option on. It is something that would have to be discussed amongst staff.
threads cannot be deleted by the original poster, and here's why....... if everyone had the ability to delete his/her thread at his/her leisure, lots and lots of other pertinent input would be lost....... Anyone can request thread be deleted by staff, but that is something that staff will decide based on many factors.....
4 hours. Should be plenty long to realise a mistake-- if not, ask a staff for help. Considering I've only had one such request, I don't think it's an issue.
Bump If a person posting has to give a explanation why he is deleting his post, why don't a mod do the same?
The "Reason" field is completely optional. You can delete your own posts without explanation if you so choose. (Within a certain period of time of course).
SquareFile, we had to remove a thread (and a user) because of some issues that arose this evening. It wasn't any of our good members here, but rather a person who recently joined and (aside from some insults he gave towards a member today) his attitude was not one that fits in with the family atmosphere we are trying to keep around here. Not to mention some links on his profile aimed at harsh political/antisemitism views. The guys who moderate this site put a TON of volunteer time into it, even donating their own funds to keep this site online, we are trying to do what is best for the community AS A WHOLE, not just "how the moderators want it", so to speak.
