Load of red oak from my awesome in laws. I split it up and left it in a pile earlier this year and am amazed at just how dry it already is. Didn't stack it up there because I kept putting off loading down my little ranger. Will get stacked later this week. They sure have been good to me. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
Yep that is some nice BTU's that is for sure. I am afraid the best any of my in laws could do would be some old cottonwood and I have enough of that already.
My FIL asked me if we wanted a willow trunk that the power company left behind on a line clean up... About cut my tongue in half
Great score on the Red Oak, it may seem that the wood is drying well, and it is. It just needs three more years of that. Enjoy!
The window stickers were found on our vacation in Daytona Beach..... I had to have them lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
Red oak is great! Seems like most of the storm damage wood I acquire is Red oak here in SC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good catch - If there were only 1 kind of wood to burn, I'd want red oak. Well, maybe hickory then red oak. Heheh
It occurs to me that it is actually a glass half full message....IF as opposed to "Honk WHEN........".
Y'all behave about my ranger lol best 1300 dollars I've ever spent. I will say when it's loaded down like that it makes the most awful grinding noise from the rear end like scrubbing when it bottoms out. I gotta be careful with how much black Betty brings home. I know some people are on weird terms with their in laws but I couldn't ask for better ones. They've been good to me. My father in law is actually a timber harvester. He's been in the woods since he was a late teen. I help him with firewood all I can because I know the last thing he wants to do is fool with wood when he gets off and gets home. I'm smoking some ribs tomorrow so that oak may pull a double duty... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
