We have an unfinished basement and we're thinking about finishing one side of it to make a gym/office/kids play room. I was wondering what would be the best, most cost efficient way of heating it. Room would probably be roughly 20x15. Would it make sense to add a new zone to the existing copper baseboard system or use another solution like an air handler?

If your only worried about heat add on to the existing but use PEX tubing instead of copper, would work well. If you want A/C then a miniskirt might serve you better. With it being basement it shouldn't have to work too hard for heat or cooling.....
