A little while back I had the need for a log trailer that I could haul behind an atv to do a small cleanup , this is what I built . I had made it so I could take apart for transport and hoped it was strong enough for tractor duty . It works quite well , I had the original axle beam bend from a poor choice of channel and I set my second one about 4" too high but It still works well for my needs .
All the steel was end cuts or rusted from a local welding shop but free , the wheels and tires cost me because they were new and different so were the stubs and hubs . All the steel slides together so I can adjust to any length I need. Mighty Mouse Logging LLC
Well , I had it outside at my shop (dayjob) and a fella stopped in and wanted to buy it lol I built him one but it's hard to get what you need out of it to make them unless you make a production run of several to be efficient. The other big cost is for the tires and rims because it's x4 . Mighty Mouse Logging LLC
Can you get a copy right to it, then sell the rights? I don't know chit about doing it, but it seems you have a nice workable idea there. If you can't market it on your own maybe you can get a company to market it and you get something for it.
Nice build. This is a different tire but the price is good and even available by the pallet. 20x8.00-10 PAIR 4 BOLT WHEEL WANDA TURF TIRE ASSEMBLIES
I'm just a hack , the skillz were in scrounging steel that would all work together for no monies LOL I had a harder time with the tire and rims , I got some take offs atv wheels and tires from a dealer , 25x10x12 so I could get a bit of height and flotation but I had to drill the rims to fit the standard bolt pattern hubs . Should be good for 2000 lbs . I did scour the webz and looked at a lot of videos and manufacturers specs to get ideas and then I built the RonCo LH 1.0 . I have been gathering stuff to build a RonCo LH 2.0 so it will be soon time for that one LOL
Nah , there was a lot of "I hope it works" thought in it LOL When I brought it to where we scrounge up our firewood I know that my friend Jerry thought we'd fold at the axle pivots but after a couple of years of abuse , me getting stuck with the tractor and trailer between a rock and a hard place we haven't bent a thing .
As someone who can barely nail 2 boards together, I am amazed at the craftsmanship of anyone who make something like that. Wow!
I like how it breaks down as well as your hitch. That works better than my Wallenstein because it was designed only to be on a tractor where the implement bar (different than a drawbar) pitches back and forth. Because my bulldozer hitch does not do that, it bent the hitch. I now use a twisted clevis to get the pitch I am after. (The Wallenstein does allow 360 degree roll for safety).
Now you do know that you have to put up a pic of the twisted clevis setup . The hardware I used was standard stuff that spring shops carry or Harbour freight/Princess Auto carry , I made my rolling hitch , it started out as a hydraulic shaft , I don't think the spring was needed but it was a motorcycle shock spring cut in 2 so it tensions the shaft , full 360 rotate and the pintle eye lets me jacknife the trailer till it touches the back tires without bending anything LOL
