Yep, it's the rise and run that will be difficult. At 8" from the wall, two 45s won't be on the same plane, at least not without at least one additional adjustable tailpiece on the chimney end, and things start to get pretty disjointed looking. It could work. I need to get the tile in, finish the wall, and then I can move the stove into position and start working out the pipe.

This chimney is easy to clean from the roof, so I'm not terribly concerned with a bottom clean-out.

That's what I was wondering, if it is easy enough from the roof good enough:)
But then again you will have settling in the bottom of the tee

Ah, so you actually need something more along the lines of a 50, or 55* elbow (for example) because there is not enough height difference between the stove and the chimney?
    Exactly.

You got it. Complicating things is the fact that I have to adapt 6" DVL to a 7" tailpiece coming out the chimney. I'm not sure whether the 6-7" DVL increaser will do the trick:
    7'' DVL 6'' to 7'' Increaser - 7DVL-X7

If I went with the rear exit option, the tee would still have 7-9" of space below it, by my rough measuring. What's below is all non-combustible (durock, steel studs, roxul). So, there should be room to remove the cap and attach a bag, but not room to get the soot-eater in there. Still not a deal-breaker.

Tile is nearly done! Grouting this weekend. Then finishing the wall, and moving the big IS home!

Thanks y'all! Looking forward to lighting it up. The wood used to make the wood room door is actually the pallet/crate the IS was shipped in. The blue-stain rough-sawn pine was too nice to split into kindling!
