Deal alert! That's per lb of course. At Kroger this week.

This is a great price for my area. I'll be smoking a couple of them and then vaccum sealing 1lb packs of cooked pulled porky goodness.

You act like that's far?!? Some days I can only go 10 miles in 45 minutes.

Make a trip of it and get all the things that aren't worth going for individually.

For this price I may break out the meat grinder and make some sausage. Haven't seen them under $1.99 or so in a while.

I've never even seen a kroger store before. You wouldn't happen to know the price @ shop rite? Honestly I thought they were a mid west auto part chain, lol

    You're right.
I'm not a fan of driving more than 10 miles in 10 minutes. :picard:

Aren't we all! I completely understand. I was just messing with ya anyway. I wouldn't drive that far for pig either.

I haven't seen pork shoulders on sale on this side of the border for several months now. Wife was asking about pulled pork just last week. Maybe that's a sign they will be on sale here soon too. :chef:

Kroger bought out pickn save. I wonder if they have that same deal? There's no Kroger's in Wisconsin from what I know, but now that Kroger owns that chain who knows?

    Pulled pork, and carnitas. Yummmmm

There's lots of them under different names. I've been to Fry's in AZ and Owen's in IN, and they have Kroger branded stuff on the shelf.

Butts have been $.99 here every few weeks all winter. Bottom rounds were $2.99 recently, so I stocked up. They're amazing cooked like Elderthewelder did here.

I got a little burned out on pulled pork, but it's starting to sound good again.

IGA is a chainstore. Not so much mom n pop. I used to live Rockland cty, down by NYC and there was one there.

IGA is Independent Grocers Alliance. More like a franchise than a chain. Lots of little IGAs in Michigan when you get away from the cities. I'd definitely call them mom n pop.

I stopped in pick n save yesterday while taking a break from cutting. While Kroger owns that chain now, they don't have the deal on pork butts. 2.99 a lb.

    No thanks.

Checked my Kroger's this weekend and it was a no go..... They were 2.59 a pound. However I did grab two racks of ribs for $1.49 a pound on clearance.
